This year we will not be giving the STAR test to students in grades 2-5.  Instead we will be taking part in the pilot testing of the new Smarter Balance test.  This new test is to reflect the new common core standards that have been adopted by the state.  The test will be taken by 3-5 graders.  I would like to invite you to visit the following website to practice the test with your child: http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/sa/practicetest.asp.

Support our Mt. George Classrooms by donating funds on the Adopt-A-Classroom website.  Donations allow our teachers to purchase much needed items for their classrooms.  Thank you for your support!

Principals note for parents posting photos

Dear Volunteer Parents,

Thank you for all your hard work , time and effort, in the classrooms, at special events and field trips. Your participation makes all these things work much more smoothly and is greatly appreciated. In this digital age of cell phones and internet, I just wanted to remind you that if you take pictures or videos of these events, (which we love you to do) please check in at the office to make sure that parents have given permission for their child’s pictures to be shared. Thank you for your understanding.

Mt. George is working toward full electronic communication. Our ConnectED phone messaging service is now capable of sending emails along with phone calls. We have email addresses for most of our families but if you haven’t received an email from us it probably means we do not have your email address. If you are interested in receiving email communication from the school office please send an email to Miss Chris stating your desire to be added to the list. cmitchell@nvusd.k12.ca.us.
If you don’t have email, no worries, we will continue to send phone messages out as well!
